I’d like to recommend Timber Window Repair Services. They’re halfway through refurbishing and draught proofing the old sash windows in my house and are doing a sterling job. Some of the windows were in a really bad way and I thought they would be impossible to save. However, Iain and his lads seem to have achieved the impossible. I’m delighted at how well the windows have turned out - they all open and close, they fit properly, no longer rattle and most importantly, there are no more draughts.

It took me a long time to find someone to take on this job and I really did think I’d have to fit new double glazing as I couldn’t face another winter in this draughty old house. Thankfully, I haven’t had to - refurbishing has been considerably cheaper than replacing and my 100 year old windows should have a good few years left in them.

Iain clearly takes a great deal of pride in his work and his approach to the job has been thoroughly professional - great communication, turns up when he says he will and quotes a price, then sticks to it. Cannot recommend his company highly enough and I’d encourage anyone with old sash windows to seriously consider refurbishing before ripping them out.

You draught proofed and re-hung virtually all the timber windows in our house and I am writing to thank you for an excellent job. Our house is very tall and nearly 150 years old, so some of the windows were in a bit of a state and few of the windows on the upper floor were fully openable. Getting access to clean or paint them was therefore a bit of a chore, since no one would do it without a scaffold and I couldn’t reach much of the outside from the inside.

Now we are in window heaven! They don’t rattle anymore and I’m sure we’ll save a lot on heating bills. I’ve been able to open all the windows during hot weather and my wife can send me off to paint or clean them when she’s in a get-things-done mood, without sneakily checking the terms of my life insurance first.

The project was excellent value for money and you completed the work on time and on budget without any quibbles or extra charges for repairing bits of rot or damage that weren’t evident when you priced the job. Many thanks.
